Commander (retired) Joseph Horsfield, R.N. (22 June, 1889 – 13 January, 1942) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Sidcup.

Horsfield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1911.

Horsfield served in Hindustan from March 1914 to April 1916 when he was appointed to Royal Sovereign. He left her in December 1917 and was appointed to Skirmisher, as gunnery officer, on 24 January, 1918.

Post-War

Horsfield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1919.

Horsfield was appointed in command of the destroyer Scout on 9 December, 1920.[1]

Horsfield was promoted to the rank of Commander on 22 June, 1930.
