Lieutenant-Commander Thomas Fleming Besant (22 December, 1883 – 14 September, 1914) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Liverpool, his father Edgar was a naval store-keeper.
Besant was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1905.[1]
Besant was appointed in command of the submarine C 16 on 1 November, 1907.[2]
Besant was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1913.
Besant died when he was lost along with his entire crew when AE 1 disappeared without a trace in September, 1914.[3]
