Captain (retired) George Ainslie Rooke, R.N. (10 October, 1875 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Captain Eustace Rooke was born in 1875.

Rooke's promotion to the rank of Lieutenant in June, 1897 was accelerated due to good examinations.

Rooke was promoted to the rank of Commander in June, 1909.

Rooke was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 30 June, 1912. During the Great War, he served in transport duties in a variety of British and French ports.

Reverted to the Retired List on 28 June, 1919, postdated to August.

Rooke was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) in recognition of wartime service, dated 11 November, 1918.
