Captain (retired) Oswald Stannus Gray, R.N. (7 August, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Brunswick, Victoria, the son of R. S. Gray, Esq..

Gray was appointed to the battleship Magnificent from 10 April 1905.[1]

Gray was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 February, 1909.[2]

Gray was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 February, 1917.[3]

From March 1922 into 1938, Gray would hold a series of appointments in the Naval Ordnance Department. He was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 25 November, 1930.[4]

World War II

From 1939, Gray worked in the Ordnance Inspection Department.[5]

Gray was granted the confirmed rank of Captain upon his reversion to the Retired List on 8 August, 1948.[6]
