Commander (retired) Harold Exton Turner, (28 June, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Turner joined the navy as part of a special emergency term taken into the Training Establishment in September 1914.

He served in King Edward VII from May 1915 to January 1916 and was appointed to the battleship Neptune on 5 February, 1916. He would see action in her at the Battle of Jutland. On 30 July 1917 he was sent to Vernon for a course in Torpedo Control.[1]

Turner served the rest of the war in the destroyer Firedrake, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1918. This was altered to 15 March, 1918.[2]

Turner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1927.[3]

Turner was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 15 August, 1938.[4]
