Captain (emergency) Alfred Henry Tarleton, M.V.O., R.N. (16 May, 1862 – 7 June, 1921) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Paddington, the son of Vice-Admiral Sir W. Tarleton.
Tarleton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1884. He resigned his commission on 14 March, 1888.
In 1902, Tarleton was placed on the Emergency List and his commission restored.
Tarleton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1913 for special services in developing the work of the Navy Employment Agency.
Tarleton worked in the Trade Division during the entire war.
Tarleton reverted to the Emergency List on 16 March, 1919 and was promoted to the rank of Captain on the Emergency List in recognition of wartime service, dated 11 November, 1918.
