Captain (retired) Robert Arthur Startin, O.B.E., A.M. (7 February, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Captain (later Admiral) James Startin, R.N. passed out of the Training Establishment in mid-September 1911 and had two brief appointments in the battleship London and battleship Implacable before being placed in the battleship Africa of the Third Battle Squadron on 14 May, 1912.[1]
Startin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 March, 1916.[2]
Startin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 March, 1924.[3]
Startin was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1929.[4]
World War II
Startin was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 7 February, 1944.[5]
