Captain (retired) John Dodson Daintree, C.B.E., R.N. (2 January, 1864 – 21 September, 1952) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Daintree was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in October, 1886.[1]
Daintree was promoted to the rank of Commander in December, 1899.[2]
Daintree was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 February, 1908 and appointed Assistant Inspector of Life Saving Apparatus under the Board of Trade.[3]
Following wartime service in Transport roles, he reverted to the Retired List on 1 March 1919.[4]
He was often in naval hospitals in the 1930s onward, suffering from gastric conditions and Bell's Palsy.[5]
