Captain (retired) Edward Vernon Brooke-Webb, (3 October, 1865 – 21 December, 1945) served in the Royal Navy. Prior to a letter received on 3 August, 1904, he was named Vernon Brooke Webb.[1]

Life & Career

The son of Reverend A. Brooke-Webb was born in Wickham.[2]

Webb was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 24 June, 1887.[3]

Having fallen ill in his final seagoing appointment in the screw sloop Nymphe on the Pacific station, Webb was placed on the Retired List as unfit on 20 January, 1893.[4]

Brooke-Webb was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 October, 1905.[5]

Brooke-Webb was granted the War Service Rank of Captain, dated 11 November, 1918. On 16 August 1919 he was granted permission to reside in British Columbia.[6]
