Captain Richard Stratford Lovatt, (31 July, 1898 – 24 November, 1941) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Lovatt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1919.[1]

Lovatt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1927.[2]

Lovatt was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1932.[3]

In 1936 he was lent to the Greek government for two years. On 5 Sedptember 1938 he was appointed to Rodney as executive officer, vice Andrews.[4]

World War II

Lovatt was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1940.[5]

He was killed in command of the light cruiser Dunedin.[6]
