Rear-Admiral William Beveridge Mackenzie, R.N. (9 February, 1885 – 6 July, 1951) served in the Royal Navy.
This William B. Mackenzie (denoted as "b" in his Service Record) has been confused at times with William Bowen Mackenzie (born 1880, and whose Service Record denotes him as "a"), owing to their having the same middle initial and being contemporaries.
Life & Career
Born in Bowhill, Dunbarton.
Mackenzie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1905.
Mackenzie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1913.
Mackenzie was promoted to the rank of Probationary Flight Commander on 30 April, 1917.
Mackenzie was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1917.
Post-War
Mackenzie was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1924.
Mackenzie was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 3 January, 1936 and placed on the Retired List the following day.
