Captain Richard Lloyd Edwards, R.N., Retired (2 July, 1885 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1906.

Edwards was fluent in French and passed a preliminary exam in the language in 1907 before being qualified as an acting interpreter in June, 1913.

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1914.

Post-War

Edwards was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1918.

Edwards was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 2 July, 1931.
