Vice-Admiral Harry Louis d'Estoteville Skipwith, C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (23 January, 1868 – 13 March, 1955) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Skipwith scored 1,349 marks in the competitive examinations for cadetships in the Royal Navy, coming second out of his batch of twenty.[1]

He was appointed in command of the depot ship Blake on 12 August, 1912.[2]

Skipwith was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Carnarvon on 8 January, 1914[3] where he would act as flag captain to Rear-Admiral Arthur Henry Christian of Home Fleets, Devonport.[4]

Appointed Captain of H.M.S. Vernon on 16 September, 1915.[5]

Skipwith was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 12 October, 1920, and was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 March, 1926.[6]
