Vice-Admiral Nicholas Edward Archdale, C.B.E., (11 June, 1881 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Archdale was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1902.[1]

Archdale was appointed Lieutenant & Commander of the sloop Rosario and for command of the Hong Kong Submarine Flotilla on 24 April, 1911.[2]

Archdale was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1913.[3]

Archdale was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1918.[4]

Post-War

Archdale was appointed in command of the scout cruiser Patrol on 1 January, 1919.[5]

On 28 February, 1919, he was appointed in command of the depot ship Greenwich.[6] Archdale was married on 22 July, 1920.[7]

He was appointed in command of the light cruiser Ceres in February, 1924.

In December, 1928, he was appointed in command of the battleship Malaya.

Archdale was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 October, 1929.[8]

Archdale was placed on the Retired List on his own request on 30 August, 1930.[9]
