William Murray (b)

Temporary Lieutenant William Murray, D.S.C. (28 March, 1888 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. His name is written with an appended "(b)" in his Service Record to distinguish him from another man of the same name.

Life & Career

Born in Edinburgh, Murray joined the Royal Naval Reserve in 1915 after serving in the Cameroon Highlanders.

Murray was promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. "For Period of War Only" on 14 March, 1917.

He was awarded the D.S.C. in 1915.

Demobilised 19 June, 1919.
