S.M.S. U 8 was one of four submarines of the U 5 class.

Service

On 4 March, 1915, U 8 was hunted and blown to the surface by a swarm of destroyers of the Dover Patrol, notably Ghurka, Maori and Viking. The British took 28 prisoners and U 8 sank while under tow.[4]
