Philip Foster Glover

Captain Philip Foster Glover, (9 February, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Glover's father, a Shipping Merchant, died before he joined the R.N. in January, 1907.

Glover served in the armoured cruiser Carnarvon from the outbreak of war through December, 1915. After some time on the books of H.M.S. Victory, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1916 and appointed to the battleship Queen Elizabeth. In mid-July, he went to Minotaur for one month, and on 11 August 1916 he was appointed to H.M.S. Renown.[1]

Glover was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1924.[2]

Glover was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1929.[3]

Glover was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1936.[4]

World War II

He was placed on the Retired List on 5 July, 1945.[5]
