Vice-Admiral SIR Peter William Gretton, K.C.B., D.S.O.**, O.B.E., D.S.C. (27 August, 1912 – 11 November, 1992) served in the Royal Navy.
I have been unable to find a Service Record for him at The National Archives.
Life & Career
Gretton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 June, 1934.[1]
World War II
Gretton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 June, 1942.[2]
Gretton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1942.[3]
Gretton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1948.[4]
Gretton was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 July, 1958.[5]
Gretton was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 10 March, 1961. He retired on 30 May, 1963.[6]
