Vizeadmiral Maximilian Johannes Maria Hubert Reichsgraf von Spee (22 July, 1861 – 8 December, 1914) was an officer of the Imperial German Navy, best known for leading his German East Asia Squadron to triumph at the Battle of Coronel on 1 November 1914 and to its destruction at the Battle of the Falkland Islands five weeks later.
