Captain (retired) Laurence Bernard Hill, C.B.E., D.S.O., R.N. (17 August, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of William Hill, Esq., the Director of a public company.
Hill was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1914.[1]
Hill was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 february, 1922.[2]
Hill was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1927.[3]
Hill was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1938.[4]
World War II
A Court Martial on 4 September, 1944 found Hill had negligently or by default hazarded Abercrombie. He was severely reprimanded and dismissed the ship.[5]
