John Walter Tarleton

Admiral SIR John Walter Tarleton, K.C.B. (8 November, 1811 – 25 September, 1880) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Tarleton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 September, 1835.[1]

Tarleton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 9 November, 1846.[2]

In 1850 and in 1852, Tarleton was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Silver Medal for saving life from drowning.[3]

Tarleton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 27 September, 1852.

Tarleton was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1875.

Retired 1879.
