Lieutenant R.N.R. (temporary) Ian MacKenzie Adie, D.S.C., R.N.R. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Adie was given the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 19 December 1914 and was appointed to White Oak for duty with net drifters at Poole on 23 January 1915. On 16 February he was sent to work with drifters at Larne, where he remained until 31 July 1915.[1]
Adie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 19 December, 1916.[2]
On 22 April, 1919, he was made a supplementary commanding officer of the Twelfth Fleet Sweeping Flotilla.[3]
He was demobilised on 7 January, 1920.[4]
