H.M.S. Grappler was one of 11 gunboats of the Banterer class.

Service

In the early 1880s, the ship often bore the Senior Officer, Gibraltar in addition to a Lieutenant & Commander. She first commissioned at Devonport on 8 October, 1881[3]

Grappler re-commissioned at Gibraltar on 18 February, 1885.[4]
