H.M.S. Aster was one of twenty-four Acacia Class sweeping sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Ten men, primarily stokers and trimmers, died when Aster was mined in the Mediterranean on 4 July, 1917.[6] Lt. Cdr. Hodson, who ad been in command since February 1916, was acquitted at Court Martial for the loss.[7]
