George Harry Franklin

Captain R.N.R. (retired) George Harry Franklin, R.D., R.N.R. (26 July, 1872 – 10 November, 1937) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Franklin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 12 March, 1903.[1]

Franklin was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 14 April, 1913.[2]

The Navy List indicates that Franklin was appointed in command of the armed merchant cruiser Osiris II on 1 July, 1918,[3] but his Service Record seems to indicate the submarine Osiris.

Demobilised on 27 May 1919, Franklin was placed on the Retired List on 26 July 1922 and granted the rank of Captain R.N.R..[4]
