Geoffrey David Taylor
Captain (retired) Geoffrey David Taylor, O.B.E., (16 December, 1889 – 14 April, 1939) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Kensington, the son of an H. Taylor, Esq., M.B., M.[illeg]
Taylor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1909.[1]
He was awarded the Beaufort and Wharton Testimonial for 1910.[2]
Taylor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1917.[3]
Following just over two years in command of Kite while conducting experimental work at H.M.S. Excellent, he commanded the trawler Andrew Jewer, another tender to Excellent from 7 July 1920 to 13 August, 1920.[4]
Taylor was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1921.[5]
Taylor was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 16 December, 1935.[6]
