Commander R.N.R. (retired) Francis Godfrey Spriddell, R.D. (26 June, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Spriddell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 16 August, 1911.[1]

As Acting Lieutenant-Commander, R.N.R., Spriddell was appointed in command of the destroyer Bat on 25 July, 1918.[2]

He was cautioned in connection with a collision between Bat and S.S. Eddie on 15 August, 1919. I presume the date here is that upon which the caution was noted in his record.[3]

Spriddell was demobilised on 28 January 1919 and subsequently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 16 August, 1919.[4]

Spriddell was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 September, 1922 and promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 26 June, 1923.[5]
