Edward John Wingfield

Commander Edward John Wingfield, ( – 10 March, 1888) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
In 1864, Wingfield was gazetted for his service in the attack on batteries at Shimonoseki Straits, Japan. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 3 April, 1868.[1]
He commanded the iron paddle-sloop Antelope from 23 November 1877 to February or March 1880.[2]
Wingfield was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1882.[3]
He died of pneumonia and meningitis.[4]
