Douglas Burn Buchan Brown

Lieutenant David Bruce Nicol, R.N., Retired (13 February, 1888 – 31 May, 1916) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Selkirk, the son of A. B. Brown, Esq., Douglas Brown gained two and a half months' time on passing out of Britannia on 15 January 1904 and and was appointed to join the Template:UK-Clipse on the China Station on that date.[1]

Brown was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1909.[2]

Brown was appointed to the battlecruiser Indefatigable as gunnery officer on 20 January, 1915. He would die in her at the Battle of Jutland.
