Rear-Admiral THE HONOURABLE David Charles Cairns, Fifth Earl Cairns, G.C.V.O., C.B. (3 July, 1909 – 21 March, 1989) served in the Royal Navy. He was occasionally referred to as "Viscount Garmoyle".
Life & Career
Cairns was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 2 October, 1931.
Cairns was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 2 October, 1939.
Cairns was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1943.
Retired in 1961.
