Arthur de Kewer Livius May

Captain Arthur de Kewer Livius May, C.B.E., R.N. (28 May, 1875 – 12 June, 1943) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Career

May was promoted to Lieutenant on 14 January, 1897.

May was promoted to Commander on 30 June, 1907.

May served as Assistant to the Chief of Staff at the Admiralty from 5 August, 1914 to January 1918, being promoted to Captain on 31 December, 1914. On 18 January, 1918 he was appointed Deputy Director of Operation Division, being placed in charge of the Mining Section.

On 27 June, 1919, May was appointed a Commander of the Military Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) for "valuable services as Deputy Director, Operations Division." He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 15 September 1919, having been superseded in his D.D.O.D. appointment on that date.

May died at Langaller, Catisfield, Fareham on 12 June, 1943, aged sixty-eight.
