Armytage Anthony Lucas
Captain (retired) Armytage Anthony Lucas, C.B.E. (3 May, 1861 – 21 February, 1950) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Reverend C. H. Lucas.[1]
Lucas was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1884.[2]
Lucas was appointed in command of H.M.S. Jackal from 29 March 1895 to 28 March, 1898.[3]
Lucas was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1899. On 9 July 1890, displeasure was expressed at a laxity of discipline for a Court Martial of a Naval Instructor. Lieutenant Lucas had been observed smoking on the number 2 deck while officer of the watch.[4]
Lucas was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 25 April, 1909.[5]
Lucas died after fracturing his right femur in an accidental fall.[6]
