Commander (retired) Windham Mark Phipps-Hornsby, R.N. (17 October, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Captain (eventually, Admiral) R. Phipps-Hornby.

Phipps-Hornsby served in Chester from April, 1916 to May, 1917, seeing action in her at the Battle of Jutland. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1917.

Phipps-Hornsby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1925.

Phipps-Hornby was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 18 August, 1932 and was promoted to the rank of Commander on 17 October, 1936.

World War II

Reverted to the Retired List on 21 January, 1945.
