Willis and Robinson Electric Revolution Telegraphs were tried in several Royal Navy ships around 1912-13.
Revolution Telegraphs, somewhat like Engine Order Telegraphs, allow men at a command position such as the bridge or conning tower to tell men in the engine room how many revolutions are desired from the shafts.
In October 1913, biannual reporting of trials in Indomitable, Inflexible, Dreadnought, Bellerophon, Superb, Temeraire and Boadicea was suspended without a clear indication being given as to how satisfactory they had been.[1]
