Captain William Warrington Hewett (18 April, 1861 – 27 November, 1903) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

On 20 March, 1879 while appointed to Boadicea, Hewett landed with the Naval Brigade in Natal.

In 1881 and 1882, Hewett obtained first class certificates in both Torpedoes and Gunnery.

Hewett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 12 September, 1882.

Hewett was promoted to the rank of Commander on 28 August, 1893.

Hewett was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1899.

Hewett was appointed in command of the battleship Albion on the China Station on 25 June, 1901. He was invalided from the ship on 25 January, 1902 and sent back to Plymouth. On 10 March he was judged unfit and given dates later in the year to be re-surveyed. There is no mention of these occurring, however, before his death on 27 November 1903 is indicated.
