Captain (retired) William Van Sittart Howard, R.N. (23 July, 1859 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Howard was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1882.

Howard was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1897.

Howard was placed on the Retired List on 21 October, 1905.

Howard was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 31 December, 1912.

Howard was appointed to the yacht Diana in September 1914 to assume command upon her commissioning. He was superseded on 4 May 1915.
