Captain William Tofield Makeig-Jones, R.N. (26 August, 1890 – 17 September, 1939) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Makeig-Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1910.

Post-War

Makeig-Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November, 1918.

Makeig-Jones was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1923.

Makeig-Jones was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1930.

World War II

Appointed in command of H.M.S. Courageous on 24 July, 1939, Makeig-Jones was killed when she was sunk on 17 September.
