Captain William Scarlett Jameson, (3 September, 1899 – 14 November, 1966) served in the Royal Navy. He was in the Engineering Branch.

Life & Career

The son of H. B. Jameson, Esq., gentleman fought in battleship Canada from 4 July, 1915 to February, 1918.

Jameson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1920.

Acting Interpreter in French.

After taking instruction in submarines from April, 1924, on 12 August 1924 he was appointed to the submarine K 14.

Transferred to the Engineering Branch in 1925.

Jameson was promoted to the rank of Commander (E) on 31 December, 1931.

Jameson was promoted to the rank of Captain (E) on 30 June, 1942.

Narrowly lost as National Liberal and Conservative candidate in the General election of 1955 in North Norfolk to the Labour Party candidate, Edwin Gooch.
