Admiral SIR William Montagu Dowell, G.C.B., Royal Navy (2 August, 1825 – 27 December, 1912) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Dowell was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 20 January, 1880, vice Wintour.[1] On 17 November, 1882, he was knighted and appointed a Knight Commander in the Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).[2]

On 1 July, 1885, he was promoted to the rank of Admiral.[3] He was placed on the Retired List on 2 August, 1890.[4]
