Admiral THE HONOURABLE William John Ward, Royal Navy (9 December, 1829 – 20 November, 1900) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Ward was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 23 July, 1880, vice Hood.[1]
He was appointed Admiral Superintendent of Malta Royal Dockyard on 25 March, 1885.[2]
In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, Ward was placed on the Retired List on 9 December, 1894.[3] He died at the Hotel Burlington, Boscombe, on 20 November, 1900, aged seventy.[4]
