Lieutenant (retired) William Daniel Hill, R.N. (9 February, 1871 – 2 March, 1943) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Hill was granted the acting rank of Gunner on 23 December, 1902 and confirmed on 28 December, 1903.
Hill was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 025 on 16 January, 1913.[1]
Hill was appointed to Fearless on 12 June, 1915, was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 23 December, 1917 and then appointed to Ramillies on 22 March, 1918, even as he was dealing with a growing deafness.
Hill was appointed to Colleen for temporary command of a ship called Shower (or perhaps Seahorse, abbreviated) on 23 June, 1921.
Hill was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Lieutenant upon his relief on 23 September, 1922.
