Wilfrid Bayley Pirie

Commander (emergency) Wilfrid Bayley Pirie, D.S.O. (10 March, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Pirie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1908.

Pirie was appointed in command of the submarine C 12 on 15 October, 1912.[1]

Pirie was allowed to resign on 26 June, 1914 to join the Emergency List in order to take up a partnership in an engineering business.

Pirie was awarded a D.S.O. for his services in command of H 1 in the Sea of Marmora in October, 1915.

Pirie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1916.

Pirie was promoted to the rank of Commander on 11 November, 1918.

Pirie's name was removed from the Navy List due to non-report in May, 1933.
