Vice-Admiral Wilfred Henderson (10 February, 1873 – 14 August, 1930) served in the Royal Navy. His first name is less commonly offered as "Wilfrid".

Life & Career

Born in Leghorn, Italy, Henderson could speak French, German and Italian and gained an extraordinary 12 months time on passing out of Britannia in July of 1888.[1]

Henderson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on January, 1893.[2]

Henderson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1903.[3]

Henderson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1909.[4]

Henderson was appointed in command of the destroyer Blanche on 1 May, 1912.

Great War

Henderson was serving as Royal Naval Attaché to Germany when war broke out, and he was interned in Holland for the duration.

Post-War
