Wharton Stanley Gray

Captain (retired) Wharton Stanley Gray, O.B.E. (28 August, 1888 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Reverend H. B. Gray.
Gray was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1909.[1]
In November 1914, Gray joined the light cruiser Penelope as gunnery officer. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1916. He served in te light cruiser Calcutta later in the war.[2]
Gray was promoted to the rank of Commander in June, 1922.[3]
Gray was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 23 September, 1934.[4]
