U.S.S. K-2, originally to be named U.S.S. Cachalot was one of eight Haddock Class submarines completed for the U.S. Navy.

She was commissioned on 31 January, 1914 with Ensign Radford Moses in command.

Service

In early 1916, K-2, K-1 and K-5 were sent to Pensacola, Florida, their crews accommodated aboard Tallahassee.[4]
