The Twenty-second Fleet Sweeping Flotilla was a formation of fleet minesweepers of the Royal Navy that operated out of Portsmouth late in the war alongside the paddle sweepers of the Ninth Fleet Sweeping Flotilla.

History

November, 1918 – December, 1918

Also known as the "Portsmouth Fleet Sweeping Flotilla", a nickname formerly associated with the Ninth Fleet Sweeping Flotilla, which was henceforth dubbed "Portsmouth Paddler Fleet Sweeping Flotilla". Prestatyn is expected to join "shortly". Tonbridge bears the Senior Officer.[1]

December, 1918 – April, 1919

Prestatyn is reportedly in place.[2]

The flotilla, as well as her sister the Ninth Fleet Sweeping Flotilla, are no longer listed in the Supplement to the Monthly Navy List, but some movements are reported in The Times.

Disbanded? some time in April

The flotilla arrived at Lervig on 18 May.[3] They left Lervig on 22 September for Rosyth. This is the final mention of the formation I can locate.[4]
