Thomas Yeoman

Commander (retired) Thomas Yeoman, O.B.E., R.N. (18 April, 1897 – 19 February, 1956) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of T. Yeoman, a manufacturer of linen.[1]

Yeoman was a member of a large Special Entry to the Training Establishment in September, 1915. He passed out on 1 February, 1916 and was appointed to Bellerophon. He served in her until 25 February, 1918, fighting at the Battle of Jutland.[2]

Yeoman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1918.[3]

Yeoman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1926.[4]

Yeoman was placed on the Retired List at his own request in November 1933 and promoted the rank of Commander (retired) on 18 April, 1937. He was earmarked for submarines in time of war or emergency.[5]

World War II

Reverted to the Retired List as medically unfit on 17 June, 1947.[6]
