Stacey Wise

Lieutenant Stacey Wise, R.N. (7 April, 1892 – 22 September, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of E. J. Wise, esquire, who worked at the Bank of England.

Starting in September 1909, Wise served first in the armoured cruiser Drake with the Fifth Cruiser Squadron. When his appointment ended in November 1910, Captain Brand noted that Wise was "rather slow." From there, he moved on to the armoured cruisers Suffolk, Aboukir and London. Leaving the third vessel in December 1911, Captain Sinclair noted that Wise was "not so intelligent or hardwkg."

Wise was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 30 October, 1912.

Wise was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1914.

Wise was appointed to the armoured cruiser Cressy for work in the engine room as soon as war broke out and died when she was torpedoed and lost on 22 September.
