Seawolf Class Submarine (1913)

Three Seawolf or "H" class submarines were completed for the U.S. Navy in 1913-14. A further six units being built for Russia were purchased in 1918. They were quite different from the American-built submarines of Britain's "H" class of 1915.

Service

In early 1916, the first three H class boats were operating out of California, their crews living aboard U.S.S. Cheyenne.
