S.M.S. U 27 was one of 4 submarines of the U 27 class.

Service

On 18 October, U 27 discovered E 3 patrolling off the Ems and stalked her unseen from the up-sun side close to 800 yards before firing. E 3 sank rapidly and U 27 did not stop to pick up survivors.[4]
